At least a 2.1 degree in any discipline.

Academically competitive applicants will generally have at least AAA at A level or equivalent, including an A or A* at Chemistry (passed within seven years of entry), plus A level passes in two of the following: Physics, Biology, Maths.

Academically competitive applicants will generally have at least 36 points with 6,6,6 at Higher level including Chemistry and two of the following
at Higher or Standard level: Physics, Biology, Maths. Those who do not hold these grades should be aware that their application will be in direct competition with those who do.

This is a specific four-year programme for applicants enrolled on one of our four Feeder Stream degree courses in Wales. Applicants must achieve at least a 2.1 Honours degree. See website for details.

Only applicants from these specific Feeder Streams can be considered as they are entering the second year of our 5 year MB BCh programme.

There is provision for students from each feeder stream (see above) to enter the second year of the five-year A100 Medical programme in Cardiff (A101). In addition, students from the feeder streams can apply to study their medical degree in North Wales (A102). Students on both courses will graduate with a Cardiff University degree.

Applicants are required to achieve a 2:1 (upper second class) in first degree and BBB/ABC at A Level. A pass in the science practical is normally required.

9 GCSE's including GCSE Maths and English Language grade 6 (B), 66 (BB) in Double Science, or 66 (BB) in Biology and Chemistry.

Overall 32 points excluding theory of knowledge and extended essay. Two science subjects from Chemistry, Biology, and either Mathematics or Statistics, but not Mathematical Studies at HL, with 6 being achieved in either Chemistry or Biology. Chemistry or Biology must be offered at SL with score of 7, if not at HL. If Maths and English Language are not offered within the diploma they should be offered as GCSE subjects with at least grade B.

A degree in applied or experimental science with a degree class of 2.1 or above (or a GPA above 3.5). Graduates in subjects other than bioscience must also have biology or dual-award science at GCSE or O-level, or an equivalent qualification.

Passes at A-level of at least AAB with an A or A* in Chemistry (grade requirements apply if A-levels were taken within the last 5 years; applicants whose exams were taken more than 5 years prior to the year of application are not required to have AAB, although their grades will be assessed carefully at the shortlisting stage).

Scottish applicants must have AAB with an A in Scottish Advanced Higher Chemistry if taken within last 5 years. Applicants with a degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry (2.1 or above) are exempt from this requirement. Applicants must also have one from Biology, Physics or Mathematics at Scottish Advanced Higher Level.

Applicants with a degree in a subject other than bioscience must have a qualification in biology at GCSE or equivalent level.

Applicants must have an overall score of 36 (including core points) and scores of 6 in subjects taken at Higher Level. Applicants are required to offer the following subjects at Higher Level: i) Chemistry (unless applicants have a degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with a 2.1 or above) ii) At least one from Biology, Physics or Mathematics.

An upper second class or first class Bachelor's degree in an appropriate life sciences subject. Master's degrees or doctoral degrees are not considered. 

BBB at A level, one of which must be Chemistry or Biology, taken in one sitting. Further Maths, Critical Thinking and General Studies are not accepted.

AAAAB in Scottish Highers and BB in Advanced Level, including Chemistry or Biology. Resits are accepted (single resit per A level or Scottish Higher/ Advanced Higher) and all resits should be taken in the same sitting.

Where a graduate applicant has BBB or better at A level but the pre-degree A levels do not include Chemistry or Biology, we will consider the application if the candidate has taken A level Chemistry or Biology after their Bachelor's degree and achieved (or is predicted to achieve) a grade B or higher.

Grade 4 (C) or higher at GCSE English Language. Applicants holding iGCSE English as a Second Language or Edexcel iGCSE English Language B are required to hold a grade B or higher.

32 points overall with 5s in Higher Level subjects (to include Chemistry or Biology) and no less than four in Standard Level subjects.

BM4 applicants are required to achieve an upper second-class honours degree in any subject, in their first degree. Degree must be equivalent to a UK honours degree.
